Adding songs to spotify playlist
There are several issues with this workflow:
- I click to "add all songs to a spotify playlist" but if I have not scrolled down in my list, it only tries to do something with the first 50 because that is what is available in the pagination. If I add them, then scroll down some and do the same thing again, it does not deduplicate. I wouldn't think that I would need to scroll to the bottom for the "add all" option to work.
- When I click to add songs to a spotify playlist, I get a message that says, "Deleting 200 songs. This may take a while." After I calm down from my panic attack, I learn that all 200 requests are NOT, in fact, deleted. It's just the wrong message.
- After scrolling all the way to the bottom and clicking adding all songs to spotify, I see the confirmation message that it's trying to delete 200 songs - I know better so I check my playlist and see some songs have been added. However, not all the songs are added. It added 46 of 200. So, I try again. Now, there are 67 songs in the playlist. I do this several times before all 200 songs go to spotify - each time until spotify is done adding songs - sometimes up to 30 minutes wait juuuuust to make sure it's done with no change.
- Each time I add requests to my spotify playlist, I am getting different songs (yay!) but I am also getting ones that have alreayd been added (boo.). So now I need to manually handle duplicates and figure out if anything did not go to the playlist since the original sync did not work.
- I tried to work around this by turning off the integration, moving all my requests to pending, turning the integration back on and setting up a brand new playlist. Then, I moved everything to accepted in hopes they would be added to the spotify playlist. They were not.
- When moving songs between pending and accepted en masse, i get an error if I try to move more than 50 at a time. So, I could not move "all" songs to pending and had to do this 4 times to get all my songs to move to pending. Because I tried this at least 3 times to see if I could get it to work, it meant clicking to move all songs to a different status at least 12 times.
- When the songs move to another status, you get a helpful message saying "Moving 50 songs to [status]. This may take a while...." Then, the message goes away. Nothing on the page changes otherwise. The songs appear to still be in the same status. There no success message. I have to manually refresh the page to see them in the new status or be able to take any action on them.
And after all of that, I will still need to make my spotify playlist manually because there are duplicates and things that still got missed after trying to get the playlist to sync for over an hour.
